And there was I casually cooking my girlfriend a Spag Bol and sipping a glass of Merlot, during the results show….yes we’re classy around here and then I heard Dermot spit out those words “pub singer” as winner. I choked on my Merlot, leaving a new red pattern on my kitchen carpet….or should I say rug? Mel choked too and we couldn’t eat! Can you believe that?
The Rhydler wuz robbed!! It’s a travesty!
Even the Rhydler, so gracious in defeat, was in tears, wondering how his title had been snatched away from him. Interesting how all the so called “pro’s” on the show put a brave face and tried to excuse this travesty by saying that somehow the
winner had pulled the winning song out of the hat on his last song…….nice one. No way. We don’t believe it. Ofcom anyone?
Anyway, fact is Rhydler has established himself as the consummate professional throughout this series - no-one came anywhere near him. No wonder Simon looked so nervous tonight, knowing he was saddled with second best…:-) I wonder who will still be making records in 5 years time? Rhydler or the Pub Singer? No contest.
By the way, who else wants a Rhydian/Leona duet? Cool or what?

Absolutely gutted! This I cannot understand. Rhydian was streets ahead in style, voice, performance - he looked like a star, and sang like a star - he is a Star, in spades. Won’t be watching this programme again. Just want to know when Rhydian will be recording his first album, so I can grab it, also when will he be starring in a West End Musical, so I can go and see him. Keep smiling Rhydian, you are going to have a major career, without the x-factor title.
I too shall not repeat the mistake of watching this programme. The outcome was a travesty, yes -but quite understandable. Rhydian is a singer’s/musician’s singer with technique, artistry and musicality whereas Leon is a pretty bad pub singer who would most likely receive a slow hand-clap on an average night. The result simply proves that the voting public suffers from sub-cultural amentia!
Agree with Joyce, absolutely shocked that Rydian didn’t win - my mouth dropped open for at least 10 minutes! This final was messed up from the start by Dermot saying it was a battle between England, Scotland and Wales! This didn’t even enter my head that it was between nations! I would just vote for the absolute best singer and that was in no doubt, Rydian. I suppose the one good thing is that at least Simon won’t have Rydian locked in a £1million contract and at least Andrew Lloyd-Webber can snap him up and make him the international star he rightly deserves! Go Rydian - you were robbed!
I can’t believe he didn’t win. I couldn’t get past the engaged messages to actually vote! Something smells in the State of Orange if you ask me. Go Rhydian! Release an album as soon as you can. Must have Phantom, Raise me up and O Holy Night on it!
Rhydian, I have created a natural Eau de toilette specially in your honour and called it ‘Rhydian’… I hope you will agree to test it one day (when you have some slot in your busy schedule)and that I have managed to create it so that it is as powerful as your voice and charisma…

Also it took us ages and ages to get through cos the lines were continuously engaged!!!!!
And the final snaps of the original audition did not do Rhyd any favours where as Leons certainly did him.

Dirty,Dirty, Dirty, con. We are all betrayed by X factor, I never never watch this show again, that Money making machine. This is a real battle between good and awful. Don’t trust Simon, Minogues, Louis, Sharlone,and all of producers.They move for only dirty money. Rhydian is a pure diamond, luckily virgin before a great singer. Poor Leon, he is a just Ken doll. let’s see next coming a spectacle show called “a rise and falls of X factor world.” after these collapses, let’s work this our world better.

In every country it’s probably the same…. the one, who’s the most easy to form will be the winner. I’ve been watching with my friends, who are living in Londen. She was already very enthousiastic about Rhydian and she was right: he has the best voice of all. Maybe not the one who would sell his records also to the younger people, but as said during the show: he has a great voice with world quality. Hopefully he’ll made it and we can welcome him in Holland!!
I was shocked when Rhydian was beaten - his vocal range is fantastic! I have only heard him on Youtube (as I don’t have a TV) and when Leon won I decided to listen to him as well! All I can say is - at least Rhydian hit the right notes all the time and sang in tune…
I too was really upset and gutted at the result - total injustice. However, I am sure that Rhydian’s career will blossom and have the staying power - as he has the superior voice, talent and stage presence over his so-called ‘rival’.
Rhyd - PLEASE let us know when you are bringing out an album - you should record You Raise Me Up and the superb version of Bridge Over Troubled Water. We can’t wait to see you in the West End. You have masses of support and we wish you all the luck in the world.

Rhydian Roberts will definitely be a huge star his voice is one of the best I have ever heard.
I Can’t understand why Rhydian did not win the X Factor as he was by far the most talented and gave an outstanding performance every week on the show. I did not not hear him sing out of tune once and he was always entertaining. He has so much charisma and a wonderful personality eveyone I know loves him. I think he will have a great future ahead of him as he is such an amazing talent.
A good man would prefer to be defeated than to defeat injustice by evil means.
The difference was less than 1 percent! Leon sang first actually it was over 10 minutes before Rhydian sang! Louis said if All Scotland vote you (Leon) can win X Factor! I liked Leons version! it was very good!! I am sure there was a surg of votinghere tha swamped the lines!
But then came sublimity! Rhydian with power and beauty and richness blew Leon away!
The travesty is that Rhydians version has been denied us His version is timeless.
