Competition For Worst Haircut?

Spot the difference!  Who was it who told me that short hair is in? Rhydian once again proves that hair styles are ageless…well we’re being polite…who else thinks that Rhydian would look better with shorter hair? I have to say that bouffant is definitely not in and neither is the quiff! I am convinced that if Rhydian cut his hair, he’d get more votes, or is it just me? Come on guys and girls…am I right or wrong?

Rhydian Roberts Video Of Somewhere

Here’s the video of Rhydian Roberts’ “Somewhere” on 24th November on X Factor.

Somewhere Somehow Rhydian Rocks Again!

Rhydian Roberts is back. After last week’s less than convincing performance, the Rhydler, looking electrifying in blue, brought the house down with a perfect performance of Somewhere.

His voice was perfection and every note delivered right on key. So moving was his performance that it brought Dannii to tears. He has certainly has given the others something to think about!

I  have to say that Rhydian Roberts is in a class of his own. Whilst other contestants delivered good performances, Rhydian looked calm and composed and seemed totally unaffected by pressure. It was also refreshing to see the videos of his surprise homecoming during the week. He seems very close to his family and modest too, judging by his reaction to the judges’s comments. Well done Rhydian, if you don’t go all the way to the final and indeed win it, it will be a travesty!

Video coming up soon.

Rhydian’s Song Of The Week - Somewhere - Barbra Streisand

Classically-trained  Rhydian Roberts is to cover Barbra Streisand’s song “Somewhere” this weekend on X Factor. It will be a return to the serious side of music for Rhydian, who has been glammed up by mentor Dannii Minogue in recent weeks and belted out classics such as Go West, complete with sailors and fur coats. The song choices were originally going to be Motown classics, but have since been changed to love songs.

Leon will sing Ray Charles’ You Don’t Know Me, while Beverley is set to have a go at Without You - a beautiful ballad originally sung by Harry Nilsson but made legendary by Mariah Carey in the 1990s.

Fellow over-25 contestant Niki will attempt Jennifer Rush’s The Power of Love and Hope will stay current with Hurt, a song by Christina Aguilera.

Finally, brother-sister duo Same Difference will bring their own sprinkling of cheese to Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now - a 1987 hit originally written as the theme tune to the film Mannequin.

No Matter What Happens on X-Factor, Rhydian Roberts is Still the Winner

The lights of the stage haven’t even cooled, nor have the echoes of the applause faded, and the offers for the talents of the great Rhydian Roberts are already pouring in. Rhydian is not your typical pop star who usually wins these types of competitions; he is a classically trained performer who shines the brightest when he is on stage performing for a live audience.

Rhydian Roberts is no fly by night singer who will make a few hits and move on into obscurity. Rhydian Roberts has true staying power and can look forward to a future as a powerhouse singer of stage and screen.

He has even won the approval of Simon Cowell who usually has nothing good to say about anyone. He likened the blond bombshell to Leona Lewis a pop sensation. Sharon Osbourne has said, “You are definitely going to win this.” But fate can be fickle and as they say in the world of opera in which Rhydian Roberts moves, “It ain’t over till the fat lady sings.”

Rhydian has won many fans with his quirky, individualistic style and striking blonde hair. His apparent love and respect for his parents, especially his mum is refreshing when most pop star wannabes want to show the world how “cool” they are. Rhydian’s fresh faced good looks coupled with his signature style have captured the attention of fans everywhere.

Still going up against the girl band Hope, Rhydian has the best chance of winning the competition and if he does not win, he is now on the public’s radar and doesn’t look like the type of guy who will go quietly into that good night.

He has already expressed his dissatisfaction with the editors of the show for the way they portrayed him in his auditions. He felt he was made to look like a laughing stock and that his footage was edited in such a way that it would make him look foolish. It doesn’t seem that the editing has hurt his chances in any way as each week he continues to deliver solid performances that are entertaining and polished.

He also felt that other contestants that were vying for the top spot were given editing that was more sympathetic and they were allowed to tell their sob stories. It is said that even before the live shows began, that Rhydian was thinking about calling it quits and throwing in the towel. Rhydian has gotten as far as he has without depending upon the sympathy of the audience; he is being judged solely on his superior talent.

How many people would be poorer if he decided not to compete? It is splendid to see a young man not afraid to show the world who he is and proud of his uniqueness and talent. Rhydian was determined he would get his real personality across to the audience when he began performing live and he has certainly achieved that goal and in a big way.

Just a Little Bit about Rhydian Roberts

rhydian009An import from Wales and a fluent Welsh speaker; Rhydian Roberts is the son of Malcolm and Angela Roberts. He was born in 1983 at the Brecon Hospital. The schools he attended are just about impossible to pronounce, but we will list them anyway. As a boy he attended Pontsenni Cylch Meithrin, followed by the Welsh medium school in Brecon, Ysgol y Bannau. He attended university at Llandovery College and Birmingham Conservatoire. This is the last year he can attend because on his next birthday he will be too old at age 25.

Rhydian is keen on fitness and tries to make it to the gym every day. He played rugby with Gwernyfed club, located near Brecon, as a junior and continued playing for his school. If asked he will tell you that some of the happiest days he has ever spent were spent at Llandovery College. He is proud of the fact that he ended his education as head boy.

rhydian023 Rhydian makes a living as a personal trainer and it is said that he was considered to be one of the strongest bench pressers in Wales. He has been taking vocal lessons and coaching for the past seven years and it certainly shows in his performance and his voice control.

Not only can Rhydian Roberts sing a mean song, he can also play the cornet and trumpet. He played both these instruments right up until his A level music exam. As part of his curriculum in Birmingham, Rhydian participated in several school productions. He also won prizes while there as well.

X-Factor Here He Comes

rhydian024Rhydian did not tell his parents that he was entering the X-Factor competition, so when he was accepted, it was a complete surprise to them. Rhydian is one of the most talented singers to be seen on an “amateur competition” whether in America or here in the United Kingdom.

The hardest part of the attention that being on X-Factor is the lies and innuendos that are written about him in the tabloids. It is especially painful for his mum Angela. It was reported that Rhydian’s dad is a millionaire, which his mum says is the furthest thing from the truth. He makes his living as an electrical contractor and Rhydian’s mum works for Crossroads Caring for Carers, a Carer’s Charity which provides breaks for those who are caregivers. Rhydian hopes that with his success from X-Factor, he will be able to make a sizeable donation to the charity that his mum works so hard to promote.

No matter what you think of Rhydian’s unique style and methods of performing, there is no denying he is a brilliant entertainer and as each week passes he gains more and more fans. It is evident in every performance that he has worked his hardest and is dedicated to giving the audience and the judges the best of his ability. If Rhydian doesn’t win the X-Factor competition, he will still be a winner in millions of people’s eyes.

A Great Future For Rhydian!

Rhydian- Go WestDidn’t you just love last week’s performance! Rhydian rocks! Okay, the show was camp, but who cares? It was riveting and very entertaining it seemed to me that Rhydian can adapt to just about anything that is thrown at him. There’s no question that he is streets ahead of anyone else on the show! Yes of course, we all love Niky and Beverley. But this guy has charisma and star quality. If he doesn’t win the show, it’s going be a travesty.

Okay, he’s cocky and brash and full of himself, but if you had his talent wouldn’t you be the same? Ever since I saw Rhydian Roberts in the auditions, I had a feeling that he would win. I still believe this passionately. After all, anyone with such a distinguished and unique voice, with such obvious star quality and charisma, should certainly win the show. After all, no one else comes anywhere near Rhydian Roberts. He is in a class of his own and I think without doubt that Simon Cowell must be licking his lips right now at the prospect of another multi-million pound signing!

The winner of last year’s X Factor, the delectable Leona Lewis has just achieved a massive number one with her first single release and I’m sure that her recently released album will go on and achieve great success in the charts. I can see the same thing for Rhydian Roberts. What an amazing voice he has! And hey, if a guy like Paul Potts can make it, and I’m sure Rhydian Roberts can make it too. And the main difference between Paul Potts and Rhydian Roberts, is the fact that Rhydian Roberts has enormous confidence in himself and as a result has a great charisma about him.

Rhydian Roberts hails from Wales. And of course as we all know, there have been some amazing singers who’ve hailed from Wales! Tom Jones and Charlotte Church to name but two. You have to admire Rhydian Roberts for his cockiness and ambition. He was recently quoted as saying that if he released an album the whole of Wales would buy it. He could well be right! Well he might not realise that the whole of England and Scotland might also buy it too! Okay that’s going to far, but I’m sure that any future album release would be a major success. Apart from this, I think the Rhydian Roberts has incredible stage presence and his appearances on X Factor don’t yet show this. I can see him in any major West End theatrical production. Phantom of the Opera for example would suit him extremely well.

Anyway, one way or the other, I see a great future for Rhydian Roberts and if he doesn’t win X Factor this year, then going be a huge travesty not only for him, but also for Wales, who surely must win something sometime soon!
